schools and community learning
We truly make the most of the unique environment at Cogges and create interactive learning experiences to inspire children and adults of all ages. We deliver popular school programmes for primary children, hands-on traineeships for young people and run a fantastic programme of workshops, skill sharing and training for the public throughout the year.
Book a school visit for a unique, hands-on learning experience. We cover different age ranges from the Early Years Foundation Stage through to Key Stage 2 and can offer full or half-day sessions tailored to the needs of your school and the curriculum.
Watch this space for further information regarding an exciting programme of workshops for 2025, including scything for beginners, macrame, stonemasonry, photography art (watercolour and/or drawing), and pyrography (wood art using a burning technique).

Cogges offers opportunities for some 16-24 year olds to learn new skills in land management. We have developed a programme of activities to engage young people and enable us to manage and improve the habitat at the same time! Trainees will learn many of the skills of traditional woodland management, along with ditch and pond management and charcoal making.
