get in touch and we'll tell you all you need to know!
Cogges weddings take place in our 18th Century Wheat and Barley barns, usually from April to October (we are happy to discuss other dates too!) Weddings are an important part of life at Cogges, and income raised goes towards the running of the farm and keeping the doors of this special heritage visitor centre open to our community and visitors.
We ensure that there is only ever one barn wedding per weekend, and you'll have sole use of the barns and their walled courtyard from Friday to Sunday. For mid-week weddings, you'll have exclusive use from either Monday to Wednesday or Tuesday to Thursday. Weddings on different days of the week may be possible, so please ask.
The entire site will be exclusively yours from 5pm onwards on the day of your wedding, and this includes our walled garden, Manor House lawn and orchard. This leads to incredible photographic opportunities, and you're welcome to include our friendly animals in your photographs too.
To check availability or discuss your wedding plans, do get in touch via weddings@cogges.org.uk or call Janette on 01993 670493.
We’d love to show off our beautiful venue and understand more about your requirements and how you’d like your wedding to unfold.
Viewings by appointment only - this can be a weekday or at weekends, except on a day a wedding is taking place; we often have availability on bank holidays and early evenings.
If you can't wait to book Cogges for your special day, we will be happy to reserve your date (subject to availability) for 7 days. This gives you the chance to check with the Registration Service or your local church, your nearest and dearest, and perhaps favourite suppliers too.
A non-refundable £500 deposit* will secure your chosen date. A further 30% of the hire fee will be payable as a binding deposit* 6 months before the big day, with the balance payable two months before. This final invoice will include optional charges such as corkage, hire of straw bales etc.
Many couples like to spread the payments, so you are welcome to pay additional amounts to your own payment plan – please ask!
*Although the deposits are non-refundable, should you need to change your date, we will be happy to check availability on request and transfer it to an alternative date. Another £500 deposit would be payable to secure the new date, all deductable from your final invoice. There may be an uplift in the hire fees under these circumstances to reflect a change from low to high season or if moving into another year's pricing.
Only payable if you wish to hold your legal marriage ceremony at Cogges in 2024. In addition, it is your responsibility to book the Registrars via Oxfordshire County Council's Registration Service and to pay their fees directly, which vary depending on the day and time of your ceremony.
Corkage is payable when you supply your own drink or bar provider. If you use the Cogges preferred bar for all drink, the corkage may be waived in full. Should you use the Cogges preferred bar and supply your own wines etc., a partial corkage fee may still be payable. We are happy to discuss and tailor to your requirements.
We are currently taking bookings through to 2026, and are open to enquiries for 2027 onwards. Until new pricing is set for 2026, we will honour the 2025 pricing. If you wish to hold your wedding in a short time-frame (within the next three months), do get in touch as we may have special rates available on selected dates.
Cogges was a beautiful setting for a wedding... perfect for walking around and visiting with family and friends. Lots for the little ones to do and enjoy; from petting animals to exploring the grounds and gardens, we enjoyed every minute at Cogges. The on site cafe was also great! — Veronika L, Tennessee, USA (Tripadvisor)
